Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 19, 2026 Effective: August 19, 2026
1. Who we are
Skincare Pro Finder (“Skin Pro Finder,” “we,” “us,” “our”) operates skinprofinder.com, an online directory that helps people find verified, licensed skincare professionals, and helps those professionals be found.
Skincare Pro Finder is operated by The Extraordinary Esthetician LLC, a California limited liability company.
Privacy contact: [email protected] Postal address: The Extraordinary Esthetician LLC, c/o Underwood & Rosenblum, 1630 Oakland Rd a114, San Jose, CA 95131, United States
This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can do about it. We have written it to be read rather than skimmed past.
2. Who this policy covers
We handle information from three groups, and what we collect differs for each:
Visitors. Anyone browsing the site, searching the directory, or reading the blog, whether or not they create an account.
Consumers with accounts. People who register to save professionals, leave reviews, or contact listed businesses.
Professionals. Estheticians, spas, salons, and clinics who submit a listing, claim an existing listing, or purchase a paid plan.
Where a section applies to only one group, we say so.
3. The short version
We collect what you give us, plus standard technical information about how you use the site. We use it to run the directory, verify professionals, respond to you, and improve the service.
Three things worth knowing up front. When you contact a listed professional through our site, we pass your message and contact details to that professional so they can reply. We use advertising and analytics technologies from Google and Meta, which under California and several other state laws counts as “sharing” your information, and you can opt out at any time. Professional listings are public by design.
You have rights over your information, including access and deletion. Section 12 explains how to use them.
4. Information you give us
Everyone: name, email address, and anything you choose to write when you contact us, submit a form, subscribe to our newsletter, or leave a review.
Consumers with accounts: username, password (stored hashed, never in readable form), profile details you choose to add, saved listings, review content, and messages you send to professionals through the site.
Professionals: business name, business address, phone number, business email, website, social media handles, services offered, pricing information, business hours, photographs, licence and certification details, professional credentials, competition history where relevant, and any other content you add to your listing.
Anyone who buys a paid plan or product: billing name, billing address, and the information required to complete a transaction. We do not store full payment card numbers. Card details are collected and processed directly by Stripe under Stripe’s own privacy policy. We receive only a confirmation, the last four digits, and the card type.
Anyone who contacts a professional through the site: your name, contact details, and the content of your enquiry, which we transmit to that professional. See Section 8.
5. Information we collect automatically
When you use the site we collect standard technical and usage information:
- IP address and approximate location derived from it
- Browser type, device type, operating system, and screen size
- Pages viewed, searches run, filters applied, and links clicked
- Referring website and exit pages
- Date, time, and duration of visits
- Cookie and similar identifiers, including advertising identifiers
We collect this through cookies, server logs, Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, Google Ads tags, and the Meta Pixel. Our Cookie Policy explains what is set, by whom, and how to control it.
Location. If you use a location or radius search, we use the location you enter. If you allow it through your browser or device, we may use your approximate device location to show nearby professionals. You can refuse this, and the site still works.
Maps. Listing and search pages use Google Maps. Loading a map may share your IP address and interaction data with Google under Google’s privacy terms.
6. Health-related and sensitive information
Please read this section before telling us about your skin.
Skin Pro Finder is a directory. We are not a healthcare provider, we do not provide medical advice, and we are not your medical record. Nothing you tell us creates a clinical relationship.
You do not need to disclose any health information to use this site. Searching by category, browsing listings, and finding a professional all work without it.
However, some ordinary use of the site can reveal information about your health or the health of someone you are searching for. Browsing the Oncology Esthetics category, describing acne, rosacea, melasma, or a compromised skin barrier in a message to a professional, or writing about a condition in a review are all examples. Depending on where you live, that information may be treated as sensitive personal information or consumer health data under applicable law.
Where that is the case:
- We collect it only when you volunteer it, or when it can be inferred from how you use the site
- We use it to operate the directory, connect you with the professional you are trying to reach, and respond to you
- We do not sell it for money
- We restrict internal access to staff who need it to do their jobs
- You can ask us to delete it at any time using Section 12
Advertising technologies and health-related browsing. We use Google and Meta advertising tools across the site. This means information about which pages you visit, which can include health-related categories, may be shared with those companies. If you would prefer that not to happen, use the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link in our footer, enable Global Privacy Control in your browser, or decline advertising cookies in our consent banner. We honour all three.
If you live in Washington, Nevada, or Connecticut, read our separate Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy, which sets out additional rights and disclosures required by state health-data law.
A plain request: do not send us detailed medical history, diagnoses, medication lists, or treatment records. If a professional needs that information, give it to them directly through their own intake process, not through our contact forms.
7. Why we use your information
We use the information described above to:
- Operate, maintain, and secure the site and your account
- Show you relevant search results, listings, and locations
- Verify that a professional is real, licensed, and holds the credentials claimed
- Pass your enquiries to the professionals you contact
- Publish reviews and listings
- Process payments and manage subscriptions and paid plans
- Respond to your questions and support requests
- Send transactional messages such as account confirmations, receipts, and service notices
- Send marketing emails where you have subscribed, which you can stop at any time
- Analyse how the site is used so we can improve it
- Deliver and measure advertising, including advertising shown to you on Google and Meta platforms
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms
8. When you contact a professional
When you send an enquiry to a listed professional through our contact form, we transmit your name, contact details, and message to that professional. That is the entire point of the form, and we cannot connect you without it.
Once your information reaches that professional, they control it as an independent business. They are not acting on our behalf, and their handling of your information is governed by their own privacy practices, not this policy. We do not control how long they keep it, what they do with it, or whether they add you to their marketing list.
If you would rather not share your details with a business, use the publicly listed phone number or website instead of our form.
9. Who else we share information with
Service providers. Companies that perform functions on our behalf under contract: website hosting, email delivery, payment processing (Stripe), analytics, mapping (Google Maps), customer support, and security. They may only use your information to provide that service to us.
Professionals you contact. As described in Section 8.
The public. Professional listing content is published by design. Reviews are published under your first name and last initial. Do not put anything in a listing or review that you would not want indexed by search engines.
Advertising and analytics partners. We use Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, Google Ads, and the Meta Pixel. These tools may receive identifiers, device information, and details of the pages you view on our site, and may combine that with information they already hold about you. See the opt-out rights below.
Corporate affiliates. We share limited information with The Skin Games and affiliated entities for verification, event, and operational purposes.
Legal and safety. Where required by law, subpoena, or court order, or where we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others, or to investigate fraud.
Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may transfer as part of that transaction. We will notify you before it becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.
Sale and sharing
We do not sell your personal information for money.
However, we use advertising and analytics technologies that share identifiers and browsing activity with Google and Meta. Under California and several other state privacy laws, this is classified as “selling” or “sharing” personal information, even though no money changes hands. We tell you this plainly rather than hiding behind the fact that we receive no payment.
You can opt out at any time by:
- Using the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link in our footer
- Enabling Global Privacy Control in your browser, which we honour as a valid opt-out signal
- Declining advertising cookies in our consent banner
- Emailing [email protected]
We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
10. Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, understand how the site is used, and deliver and measure advertising.
Full detail is in our Cookie Policy, including how to refuse or delete cookies through your browser or our consent banner.
We honour Global Privacy Control signals.
11. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, or as long as the law requires.
| Information | Retention |
|---|---|
| Account information | While active, then 24 months after closure |
| Listing content | While live, then 12 months after removal |
| Enquiry messages sent through the site | 12 months |
| Transaction and billing records | 7 years, as required for tax and accounting |
| Analytics and log data | 26 months |
| Marketing preferences | Until you unsubscribe, plus a suppression record so we do not contact you again |
12. Your rights and how to use them
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you and how we use it
- Access a copy of it
- Correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- Delete it, subject to legal exceptions
- Port it to another service in a machine-readable format
- Opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising
- Limit our use of sensitive personal information
- Withdraw consent where we rely on it
- Appeal a decision we make on your request
- Be free from discrimination for exercising any of these rights
To make a request, email [email protected] with the subject line “Privacy Request” and tell us which right you want to use.
We will verify your identity before acting, usually by confirming control of the email address on your account. We may ask for more information if the request is sensitive or the account is not clearly yours.
We respond within 45 days, and will tell you if we need a further 45 days.
Authorised agents may submit requests on your behalf with written proof of authorisation. We may still contact you directly to confirm.
If we refuse a request, we will explain why, and you may appeal by replying to our decision. If your appeal is denied you may complain to your state attorney general or the California Privacy Protection Agency.
13. California residents
If you live in California, the CCPA as amended by the CPRA gives you the rights in Section 12, plus the following disclosures.
Categories of personal information collected in the last 12 months: identifiers; customer records; commercial information; internet and network activity; approximate geolocation; audio, electronic, or visual information such as listing photographs; professional or employment information; and inferences drawn from the above.
Sensitive personal information. We collect account log-in credentials, and where you volunteer it or it can be inferred from your browsing, information about your health or a health condition. Because we operate advertising technologies across the site, you have the right to limit the use and disclosure of your sensitive personal information. Use the “Limit the Use of My Sensitive Personal Information” link in our footer, or email [email protected].
Sources: directly from you, automatically from your device, from our advertising and analytics partners, and from public and licensing records used to verify professional credentials.
Purposes: as set out in Section 7.
Sale and sharing: yes, as described in Section 9. Opt out using the footer link or Global Privacy Control.
Retention: as set out in Section 11.
We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.
14. Other US state privacy rights
Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws, including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Florida, Delaware, Iowa, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Tennessee, Minnesota, Maryland, Indiana, Kentucky, and Rhode Island, have the rights described in Section 12, including the right to opt out of targeted advertising. Use the same contact route or the footer opt-out link.
Several of these states require opt-in consent before processing sensitive data, including health data. Where that applies, we will ask before processing.
15. Visitors from the UK and EU
Skin Pro Finder is a United States service listing United States professionals. We do not target the UK or EU.
If you access the site from there, your data is transferred to and processed in the United States. Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process on the basis of contract, our legitimate interests in running and securing the site, your consent for marketing and non-essential cookies, and legal obligation for tax and accounting.
You may withdraw consent at any time and complain to your supervisory authority. Contact [email protected] to exercise any GDPR right.
16. Children
Skin Pro Finder is not for children. You must be 18 or older to create an account, submit a listing, leave a review, or make a purchase.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Some of our editorial content discusses skin concerns that affect teenagers, such as acne. That content is written for parents, carers, and adults. It is not an invitation for under-18s to register or contact professionals through the site.
If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.
17. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, hashed password storage, access controls, and regular software updates. Payment card data never touches our servers.
No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
Keep your password confidential and use a unique one. Tell us immediately if you think your account has been accessed without permission.
18. Third-party sites
Our directory links to professionals’ own websites, booking systems, and social media. Our blog links to external sources. This policy does not apply to any of them. Read their privacy policies before giving them your information.
19. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top shows the most recent version.
If we make a material change, such as a new purpose for using your information or a change to sharing practices, we will notify you by email or a prominent notice on the site before it takes effect.
